About Us

Since 1981, Newman Aaronson Vanaman has provided assistance to children with disabilities and families with members who are disabled. It was the first law firm in Southern California providing representation for children with disabilities in their struggle to receive appropriate educational programs and other benefits to which they were entitled.

Newman Aaronson Vanaman remains committed to providing services for families and children needing specialized legal services. Our attorneys, paralegals and support staff are actively involved in a variety of forums as they seek to improve the services children and adults with disabilities receive.

We offer the full range of special education representation, from IEP advocacy to federal court litigation. Our experience in the field means that we not only know the law, but can understand diagnoses and psychological assessments to ensure that each student is provided with an education truly tailored to meet their individual needs.

The appeal of a Regional Center’s decision is called a “fair hearing,” and we aim to make sure that’s exactly what you get. Whether you’re contesting an eligibility determination, advocating for an increase in respite care, or fighting for the vendor that best suits your loved one, let Newman. Aaronson. Vanaman. stand for your rights.

Your child doesn’t stop being your child when they reach 18, especially if he or she has a disability that impairs their ability to make the important decisions that adults must face on a daily basis. Our attorneys work with you to design limited conservatorships that strike the right balance between allowing you to protect your young adult’s rights while still fostering independence in daily living.

Our estate planning division helps you manage the uncertainty of long-term fiscal planning for your relative with a disability. We use a variety of legal instruments, such as special needs trusts, in order to make sure that you have a plan in place that is custom made to meet your individual needs, and those of your loved one.
